After a 15+ career in Aerospace and Telecom, Nicole was ready to run her own business and get back to a customer facing role. When the opportunity of working and living in the St. Clair West community presented itself, there was no turning back for her and her business partner Brenda. Brenda’s loyalty, strong work ethic, photographic memory and love of children made her an ideal right hand to Nicole. Having both lived in the St. Clair West community for over 10 years, it made sense they would want to own a store in the area.
Using all the experience gained from planning, procurement, contract negotiation and sales support it was a natural transition for Nicole and in April 2014, the previous owner of Twice as Nice announced her intention of retiring. Nicole finalized the purchase and became the third owner of the neighborhood store.
Updating the store began with a new outdoor sign, introducing social media a. Business started to take off and what started with 160 consignees, when they first acquired the business, was now over 480. The ladies knew that the 25 year old store was growing and indeed in need of a renovation. Closing for one month, the store had a complete make-over from head to toe.
After much planning, coordinating and organizing, the store received a new change room, a new coat of paint, a new 100% recycled vinyl floor, new lighting, and an upgraded ceiling. They didn’t stop there! Twice as Nice received upgraded racks giving an additional three feet to the floor layout, new displays, shelving and draperies. With a dedicated crew of family, friends, All Trades Quality Construction, Brenda and Nicole re-opened the new Twice as Nice doors in mid-January to a refreshed and updated look.
